RIP Gumby

Posted by Dido Blagden on Wednesday, February 28, 2018,

My beautiful Gumby lost the good fight on Mother's Day 2017. He succumbed to an autoimmune disease which was attacking and destroying his own red blood cells. After 3 blood transfusions and over a week at the vet, I brought my beloved boy home for one more night and Dr Lee of Florida Veterinary Hospital came to put him to sleep and set him free to run across the Rainbow Bridge the next day.... Mother's Day.

I have been unable to look at photos or his website or even be involved in any animal ...

An attack by dogs (or a dog bite) can be traumatic because it is often a sudden, savage, unpredictable, random act of violence which overwhelms a person's capacity to take control and cope, and subsequently master the feelings aroused by the attack. Posted by Gumby Pana on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, In : Dog Blog

Clearly all the obedience training I had got had made me a GOOD dog, but what was it going to take for me to become an even BETTER dog? How would I not only be fulfilled but fulfil my potential as "man's best friend"... just imagine my joy and excitement when we came across the Paws for People® website  Http://www.pawsforpeople.co.za

My Facebook status that night was: I feel so free... here's who I can be, am inspired and in awe and want to be more... found a place I think I can be, more ME!!!

In the next couple of days w...

A bit about me

Gumby RIP GUMBY - your PAWsome legacy and insPAWration will continue ❤your mom, Dido Abandoned in a township, and rescued by CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare), I went on to be adopted and embraced by the Blagden-pack and taken to dog training where I was certified as a Canine Good Citizen. I am registered as a Paws for People Therapy Dog and visit lots of special people in various institutions. I foster a few CLAWbies who have been neglected, abandoned, abused or need some special TLC outside a shelter. I am also very involved in networking animals needing to find their PAWfect forever home and PAWsome happily ever after! Years ago I had my DNA analysed and I am in fact a Pekignese-Schnauzer-Yorkshire Terrier, with a drop of Pomeranian-Jack Russel and just a smidgen of Boxer... yip, basically I'm just a paveMUNT special super-callused fragile mystic plagued with halitosis ;-D
